Fishing
The Estancia Tres Valles fishing program combines what is quite possibly the best lake fishing in all of Patagonia with an incredible array of local area spring creeks, small freestone streams, and rivers. These waters are filled with rainbows and browns averaging an unbelievable six pounds and sometimes exceeding twenty, which would be reason enough to make the trip if it weren't for the fact that the region also offers some of the largest brook trout in the world. And with far more waters to choose from than any guest will be able to visit in the space of just one trip, choices can be made daily between wading or boating, and opportunities abound for any preferred technique. Dry fly fishing, nymphing, or chucking streamers into the depths are all productive, and for anglers who would prefer to avoid carting too much luggage down, a complete selection of top quality Simms waders, boots, and fishing equipment including Winston Rods and Hatch reels with sinking and floating lines is available for use and included in your package rate.
Accommodations
The six-thousand square foot Tres Valles lodge is intimate but spacious and distributed on two levels with four expansive double suites, each with its own private bath and deck overlooking the spectacular Cerro Desnudo Mountain. The common areas also feature a living room on each level, as well as a library, large flat-screen TV den, full bar, two dining areas, mudroom, outside deck with comfortable seating, outdoor barbecue pit, and two large fireplaces. And as remote and private as the lodge is, it still offers both fixed phone and wi-fi internet access, keeping guests as connected as they might (or might not) wish to stay with the outside world.
Cuisine
Tres Valles kitchen is run by an executive chef and five star service staff, preparing delicious gourmet meals along with traditional asados and barbeques showcasing grass-fed estancia beef and lamb, as well as a variety of local, American, and European fare. Breakfast and dinner each day is served in the lodge, while lunches are enjoyed out on the area waters with comfortable seating and service from the guide team. A fully stocked bar is also available in the lodge, and the estancia's selection of local Malbecs and other regional wines is truly second to none.
Travel Details
Flights for the Estancia Tres Valles itineraries should arrive in Esquel, Argentina (Airport code ESQ). You will most likely arrive in Argentina by landing at Buenos Aires International Airport (EZE) and we will provide a private ground transfer service across the city to the domestic airport (AEP) for your flight down to Patagonia.
Several reliable ground transport services are available including Manuel Tienda Leon, which runs both buses and private cars between airports with departures approximately every thirty minutes (+/- $15 US dollars for bus, or +/-$35 for private car). You will likely see their ticket counter upon exiting the baggage claim area; if not then just ask any airport employee and they will point you in the right direction. Independent taxis parked at the curb without reception-desk representation are not reliable and should not be used.
Our staff will meet you just outside baggage claim at the airport in Esquel, and all of your transportation will be provided from that point on until you are dropped off at the airport again for your return flights home.
